Your posts contain numerous bugs, if you ask me. ;) J/K.

But really though, the only thing I've noticed that you've mentioned is the SureType every once in a while, but then again... I'm pretty sure there's an option to set it on at all times, I just haven't done it.

I believe you meant no ring tone on incoming calls. This is the default behavior but you can easily change it. Please go to Profiles=>Select the active profile. Ensure it is Normal and not Vibrate=>Scroll down to the last option Advanced under Profiles=>Press Scroll Wheel=>Select Phone=>Change appropriate setting ensure volume is not set to Mute.

Only thing I have found is that I can't sort my picutres in the phone memory alphabetically. Not a real show stopper.

Ummm, no. He's quite right in that there is a bug where when you place a call it is as if the speaker doesn't activate until the other party picks up. The phone is just dead silent, then someone is saying "Hello?".

I read about this happening to someone else on here sometime in the last couple of weeks then last night it happened to me. I had no problems until I made a phone call when my phone was charging via USB from my computer. Does anyone else remember when this started on their phone? Is it something to do with charging the phone and making an outgoing call at the same time?

Have had the no ring on the other end till the othe party answers, yesterday.

had the no ring tone on my end twice. Reset by taking battery out. Worked until this evening. Changed profile from Loud to Normal & it came back.

Another bug is that when I use the Media Player & then stop it, the ring level of my ring tone is barely audible even though my profile is Loud with the sound level set to medium or loud. I can hear it, but only b/c I'm sitting at my desk at home and it's quiet. No way I would hear such a soft sound level in the car, etc.

Has anyone seen a correlation with the Media Player? MP3's in particular?

Have any of experienced how when you set the ring tone set to "Loud" it really isn't loud at all. But it vibrates first then rings. Anyone get that one.

i have had these three bugs and they are VERY annoying: its weird to hear no ring on the other end until someone suddenly says "hello" and its annoying when a call fails and the phone feels the need to beep incredibly loud. fyi, the suretype only doesnt engage when you are sending a text message after entering the address book directly from the home screen.

of course there is also the classic "trackball stops the phone from vibrating on incoming calls" bug, but thats not a bug, just a bad design. here are some more bugs:

- when using a stereo headset, the music doesnt stop when an incoming call is answered, but only decreases in volume. if you then stop the music manually in media player, it will start playing again at random times until the phone is restarted.

- sometimes if you enter the messages program, a shadow of hte home screen basic data (e.g. time) will superimpose over the screen. this is easily fixed by hitting back and reentering

and now, the LAMEST one:

- when you enter media player and music, and click on a song to play using the trackball, it JUST PLAYS THAT SONG, rather than the whole album. you have to hit options while in the album folder and select "play all" to play an album, which is just stupid

still the best phone ive ever had BY FAR (i converted from a buggy AS HELL sda)

That's what happens when you set it to ring+vibrate. It vibrates 2x then rings.

I wish it would ring AND vibrate at the same time!

Otherwise, I don't seem to have ANY of the issues posted here... I'm not a power user, but I've been around the phone a few times and used most of the features... they all work great!

To disable the vibrate+ring.....go to your profiles app and choose phone only. I had to do so myself a few days ago.

That is a bad design flaw, when the track ball is engaged during an incomin call the ringer is disabled automatically.

Sometimes when I am trying to send a picture I've taken via MMS or email... I type a letter and try to select a name from the address book list that pops up, but I can't select the name. I can click on it, but nothing happens. It makes me type the phone number or email address out. I've never seen this happen when sending any other type of message, or when doing anything other than sending a picture taken with the camera from inside the camera app.

If I click on the wrong video file and try to hit cancel before it starts playing, it has locked up the phone (more than once) and I've had to reboot.

My MicroSD card got hosed somehow while I was copying files to it in Mass Media mode. I lost everything on the card and had to reformat and reload the whole thing. (Note to self: back up card regularly.)

Sometimes when trying to download an email attachment, I get the error "Attachment server not found" even when I have a full EDGE signal with all 5 bars. Probably a BIS thing, not an 8100 thing. But still.

Have you edited your profile so it this option is not set? I think by default the 8100 vibes > rings on the loud profile. I have mine just set to ring while on Loud and thats all it dos is ring ring ring. When I have it set to the vibe profile I have it vibe > ring..
Make sure to check your profile settings and that they are correct since I have never heard of that being a bug..

These threads are great, but it would be a tad more helpful (especially in the long run) if we put in the version we are having the issue with.

I'm using:
8100M_PBr4[1].2.0_rel75_PL2.2.0.37_A4.2.0.64.exe

Here are a couple of my issues:
  • Agenda view from today plus screen goes to January 1st, 2001
  • Turning off the confirmation for deletes on contacts has no function
  • I can't use VAD on my bluetooth headset (it is a tad old though)
  • No MP3 on Bluetooth headset (again..old)
  • ABC indicator covers up signal meter frequently
