i just picked up my 8100 and i went to the advanced option> sim> enable security and it asked me for a pin code.. i called tmobile and nobdy knows.. what could the default pin code be?? i tried 0000, 1111, 6666, all 0's.. no luck.. thanks in advance..

I honestly dont know what enabling SIM security does. What are you expecting it to do?

I doubt this would work, but did you try the last 4 numbers on your cell phone number. That was the security code when I was on a CDMA phone. Might be the same for GSM, might not be either.

i was expecting it to do what it does on every other phone i have had. lock the sim card so the numbers cannot be pulled off.. i like to have all the security features enabled on every phone i have..

Do you change devices often where you would need to keep numbers on the SIM card? If not, you can always password protect your BB and get the same, if not better results.

This may not be an issue on the BlackBerry as it does not store numbers on the SIM card. The BlackBerry address book is stored on the device itself. If you have numbers already on the device from a previous phone then the BlackBerry can access them, or import them into the BlackBerry address book.

To enable the security features on the BlackBerry go to Options > Security Options > General Settings.
