Has anybody switched from a sidekick to a pearl? And if so how do you like it compared to the sidekick

I just made the switch about a week ago. I still have the SK3. It's an awesome fone......if you're around 18 years old. Its great for text msgs and AIM. Other then that, all the other functions are super childish. Alot of bugs to work out, crappy camera, no video, and it's kinda clunky, especially compared to the pearl. I love the pearl. Its so great for our business needs, but also fun to have too. Im personally not a fan of this suretype yet. Hopefully, I will grow into it.

I made the switch long time ago. I first got the Sidekick 2. I was planning to get the Sidekick 3 until I read a few posts at a few forums that the Blackberry is a much better device.

So after Sidekick 3 came out, few weeks later, I decided to get 7290. Now I have 8100.

i switched over about less than a week ago. i had a hiptop2. it broke 3 times. got 3 replacements, and they all sucked. so i decided to get a pearl. and i'm not regretting it one bit. this phone is awesome. however i do hope that they give out a firmware update to fix the 'phone not ringing in your pocket' problem.

I had a Sidekick 2 and bought the Pearl right when it came out. The pearl is great but its a big change from being used to the bulky SK2. I love the pearl but im considering an 8700 because I can't get used to the keyboard and I think i would prefer the size of the 8700.

I am a businessman and went from an imported Samsung phone to the SK3, omgosh, worst peice of crap ever. I tried returning it to T-Mobile a day after the return date passed but ended up selling it for nearly what I paid. The thing reminded me of a Gameboy, or that stupid Nokia N-Gage that never took off. The thing had kiddie written all over it. I wouldn't be caught dead using it around anybody credible. I was going to purchase the BBerry 8700g but went with the Pearl instead. I'm VERY happy with it, the smooth interface with Outlook and numerous business features are awesome, I would NEVER switch back in a million years. (BTW the SK3 is made by Sharp, and I think that company is as prehistoric as the Sony Beta).

me. still think the camera on the on the SKIII is better, though. (does not saturate blacks well, lots of artifacts....)

EVERYTHING else, though, is aces.

(well...minus IM services)

Anyhow, I'm happy.

I don't agree... well maybe as far as the SK3 vs. Pearl, but regardless the SK3 is what like 1.3 Megapixels? My Samsung was 3MP and put out some megafine pics might I add ;)
