Default Media Card in Read-Only Mode?

Please Login to Remove!

It seems like my media card is in read-only mode... If I'm browsing the stored files, there's a green arrow pointing out overlaying on the card's folder icon. If I try to move pictures that are on the device memory to the card it doesn't let me. When I navigate to the media card folder and click on the menu button, Move Here isn't an option displayed.

Is there a setting somewhere I missed? Or does the card have a lock or read-only switch on it like full-sized SD cards do?

Did you get the green arrow to go away? I can use my media card, move files to it, but all of my files (just pics & ringtones so far) have a green arrow pointing left. Any ideas as to what it means? or is it normal?

The thing to remember when using the Media cards with the BB is that you have to let the BB format the card. formatting the card by putting it in a card reader will not work. The BB needs to see all the files and folders it creates when it formats it. Good Luck!

How does the BB format the card? I installed mine, have been using it by transferring from the desktop etc., the issue of formatting never came up. Is there a command to use to make it format the card?
When transferring txt files from the desktop, I can see them all and open them, using the "explore" command, but have not been able so far to transfer a memopad file from the main memory to the card. Is there a way of doing this?
Thanks for any advice!

You don't get prompted but the card works best if you go to Options >Advanced Options >Media card >Menu key >Format card.

Cool, thanks. Did that, but still have the green arrows. I guess it's not a big deal, since everything else works fine.

I have the arrows too...everything works as advertised. I can move pics, etc. However, I can't move music from the card to the device memory but I'm sure it's because the files are too big. Don't need or want to do that anyway.
