They do if you have insurence. You'll probably have to contact RIM

To repair that would probably cost $50 or so with shipping. Looks like the display cover is a replaceable piece. Take a look at that thread where the 8100 was disassembled, that should tell you what comes apart.

8100 Disassembly - BlackBerryFAQ

Not that I am suggesting it, but I had a friend who had just bought a phone, damaged it, called T-Mo within the time that such was allowed to add insurance, and put insurance on the phone. Waited a few weeks, then made a claim.

But keep in mind that T-Mo insurance has a $100 deductible, I think.

But like I said, I am not suggesting you do that. Only recounting what I observed.

He does not have phone problems any longer as he is in state prison.

T-Mobile can do a warranty exchange after 30 days of purchase, within 1 year of purchase.

T-Mobile will send the replacement Pearl and you send back the old phone.

You may just get away by reporting the Pearl as it reboot by itself from time to time. If T-Mobile ask about the screen when they receive the phon, you can just say that maybe it was damaged from the shipping box while in transit back to T-Mobile. It's free shipping back with T-Mobile label, but don't forget to attach an insurance, which cost about $2. Afterall, this happen all the time in packages.
Or
T-Mobile return department is so busy with only few people. Maybe they'll just scan the IMEI# from the back of the Pearl and don't bother looking at the screen.

Good luck!

This is good advice inasmuch as T-Mo will NOT have you take the phone into a shop for inspection. Too many claims for that.

So you could tell them that something is screwed up, to where they simply say to return it to them for an exchange.

Based on the sheer volume of warranty claims they do not have time to check each phone that is mailed in to their warranty dept. They get hundreds of thousands of phone claims [think of all the phones they sell].

But make sure you claim damage that will cause them to say send it back.

By the way, all of the above is not me talking, it's from that same guy who is in prison. Hear that T-Mo? I'm just passing on what I heard.

dummyphones.com, duh? j/k

My only concern that some of the demos I've seen are glued together internally....

I'm looking into this soon.

OK I guess I'm the first a$$ to drop my Perl and crack the screen (3.36 ft onto the concrete sidewalk) . Any suggestions on how to get this damn thing fixed? My 8100 was only two weeks old and my back up 7105T already seems like a dinosaur.
