Default Address Book Prefixes (UK Network)

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Guys,

First of all:
Sample of a UK number: 07777 898989
Sample of a UK number with prefix: +447777 898989

Got my new Blackberry Pearl yesterday and put all my contacts in it. When i receive an SMS the name of the contact didnt show, the number came up with a prefix of +44 which is the country code for the UK instead of showing the first 0 of the number.

This meant that the phone didnt realise that prefix numbers and those with a 0 are the same numbers, so i changed all my contacts phone numbers to start with +44 thinking this would solve the problem.

When i did this, all my messages in my inbox have contact names next to them which is great, just what i wanted.

Today somebody rang me and their name didnt show up, the number did with a 0 infront of the number and not +44

So in conclusion, if all the numbers in my Address Book start with 0's then i can see who is calling when my Pearl rings however all my SMS's i wont know who they are from. Or if i have them set with +44 in front of the numbers i will know who all my SMS's are from, but not know when somebody rings me.

Is there some setting i can change to fix this problem.

Thanks a lot
Chris

i already have addressed this issue if you had looked further down the questions. names will only show if you do not prefix the international dialing codes in front of them. my texts and calls show the name now all contacts start with a 0

go like this call logs/options/smart dialing/country code and add +44 that should solve your problem
