Totally new to BB, haven't actually even got my pearl yet. Should be here Wednesday.

I have a question about sending an email. I know Gmail has a feature where you can select different email addresses to reply from, can I do the same thing on the blackberry?

Thanks

If you will be using BIS 2.0 then every email address has its own individual mailbox and when you reply to an email it will automatically make it look like you are responding from the email address it was sent to.

Yep, if you have multiple accounts setup on your BB there is a "Send using" field allowing you to select which account to send from.

Another cool thing, there is main message mailbox that holds all your messages but then there is account specific mailboxes that only contain msgs to that account.

And the BB works great with Gmail btw! Instantaneous emai delivery!

This doesn't work so well. If you only have a blackberry.net account, you don't get the option of "Send Using". Also, if you reply to a message, you don't get the option of selecting a "from" address.

If you read what he wrote, it says MULTIPLE accounts. If you have just one account setup, why would you need a selection option?

Just checked on T-Mobile, and if you login to My T-Mobile you can edit your tmo.blackberry.net email address and change the "Reply To" to what ever email address you want. Works with any other email addresses that you set up.

Enjoy!

Simple - I don't want anybody to know I'm responding from a blackberry. I just want to specify a "from" and/or "reply" address. Most email clients let you specify that.

Cool, thanks! I will try that out.
Edit: it seems to work - great!

i noticed that when i'm in the inbox with all the messages from all the mailboxes, when i reply to a message it defaults to the default email address for the reply field. (even though the email might have been sent to a different email account). anyway to choose the reply to email when in the all messges inbox? it automatically chooses the correct reply from address in the more specific account inboxes, but not the all inclusive inbox.
