Default "Wireless off" after hard reset/auto-on?

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my Pearl for about a week and love it! One thing I've noticed, however, is that if I perform a reset by removing/reinstalling the battery the phone powers back on but wireless is turned off. I have to go into the menu to turn it on. Also, I started using auto on/off the last two days and in the morning when it turns on (at the correct time) the wireless is off as well. If I simply power-cycle the phone off via the on/off button the wireless stays on.

Am I missing something here? Sorry if this has been covered already but I couldn't find anything via search.

btw, T-Mobile v4.2.0.42

Thanks for your time.

From what I've seen nobody quite knows what is causing this. I've experienced this too with my 8700.

Thanks for pointing me to this thread, paul. I searched on "wireless" instead of "radio". So, I guess potentially this could be a "design spec"? I agree its not necessarily that big of a deal to turn on wireless via the menu, but in my mind kind of defeats the purpose of the "auto on/off" feature. If I want my phone to turn on at a set time, I want it to not just turn on but to turn on and be "ready for action", you know?

Thanks again.

No problem, and I completely understand what you mean. It can be very annoying when it's supposed to turn on.

Take care!
