Question Alt codes

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,
I am new to the blackberry scene.
I have been doing a lot of reading of posts, and this forum is very comprehensive.
One thing that interested me were alt codes, so far the ones I know are:

alt+nmll -- signal bar
alt+race -- device information
alt+lglg -- event log

Are there any other ones?

the alt+race is actually alt+eace

although it is easier to remember as atl+race... meaning that you dont have to press the (er) key twice, as you do with alt+nmll

I hope that made sense.

Default What's an ALT-code?

Here's a stupid question, which I'm sure I'll get a "search these forums" response for, but what's an ALT code and what does it do?

Or ... hold the ALT key, type the code, and witness the answer to your question first hand ...

Good idea. I'll do that. Unfortunately, I just returned my Pearl to the store and will have to wait until Tuesday before my new, FREE, Amazon one comes in the mail. Then I'll start playing.

(Wise guy answer)

You use them on your BlackBerry.

Use them form the home screen.

ALT + [BACK] = Scroll between programs (like ALT+TAB on a PC). You can use that one anywhere.

ALT + ENTER = Switch between British and American English.

In your message list:
1) ALT + I: show only incoming mail
2) ALT + O/P: show outgoing mail / phone log
3) ALT + S: show SMS messages
4) ALT + V: show VoiceMail messages
5) ALT + M: show MMS messages
[BACK] gets you out of any of these

What about one to close extra open programs? I've tried the alt+esc, but that doesn't seem to remove all the programs.

Make sure you are entering an N and not a B (BN+BN+M+L+L)

Default Same issue with that alt code.

Same problem. Alt + NMLL doesn't seem to work on Pearl. I did notice that different themes respond differently to certain actions. Thought maybe that might have been a factor, but no dice yet.

Which one can you not get to work? They all work on my Pearl.

EDIT: Oh I see you changed your post. Hold the Alt button down and hit 8 twice, then 9, then L twice. You have to hit the 8 twice becuase 1 will give you B, and the second time will give you N.

But if it doesn't work for you then it's probably due to the theme you are using.

The Alt+NMLL. Though I must have scrolled right over the reply about making sure you're not entering a "B" so I'll give it a shot. Thankf for the response though.
