Default Which OS are you guys using on Pearl?

Just curious to know which OS are you guys running? And name all the pros and cons? By the way, can you change the clock display size or forms on the main screen?

Any problems on this particular OS? Let say if I have a Rogers locked Pearl, would I be able to upgrade to the O2 latest OS? And if there's any problems in the future, can I roll back to the Rogers one (Vice Versa)?

No problems upgrading (or downgrading it).

There are many threads already out there on the O2 upgrade, with the URL in them,

Sorry for the noob question, but how do I find which OS I am running? MY pearl is supposed to arrive from Amazon on Tuesday.

Thanks,
Roger

Options / About shows you what version you have.

I didn't do the rogers upgrade. I upgrade from tmo. I dont really see any down sides to this upgrade. Definately alot better since the major bug was fixed(ringing in pocket issue).

thanks. I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion of the differences between O2 and Rogers. guess there just isn't much difference, just improvement over T-Mobile.

I've done a lot of reading on the OS issues, fixes, bugs, etc., just like I read everything before doing mods, etc. [removing the T-Mo logo; speaker mod].

I am sticking with the T-Mo OS that came with the phone because I do not want to lose the ability to turn auto-dim off.

The advantages and detriments of installing other OS' otherwise balance out in terms of importance to me. Others feel the trackball/ringer issue is the most important fix, so they have gone with Rogers.

I am hoping that when T-Mo comes up with a patch/upgrade that is not simply the Rogers' version where I will lose the "auto-dim off" feature.

Yeah, i donta want to upgrade to the Rogers for just the ringing in my pocket or the auto dim. I like the auto dim because its too bright when Im at the movies or in the club. and I like the ringing to stop when I move the ball for obvious ringing
