Default Modem and incoming calls

I read on the forum that people have been able to rec. calls while surfing the web with laptop. I have tried to call the bb while tethered and it only rings a couple of times and goes to voicemail any ideas how to get this to work that sure would be awesome.

thanks

News to me. The BB connects to a voice call OR a data. (Try making a voice call while EDGE as an example.)

If you read this somewhere, you might refer to that forum/thread for more information or post the question at that forum/thread.

Wirelessly posted (7250/4.1.0.268, Bell Mobility: BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

You can only transmit voice or data at one time, this is true; however, if there is no data being transfered, your device should be able to receive calls (at least using EvDO devices this is the case).

For example, if I tether my BlackBerry, load a static Webpage, then phone the device it will ring through. If I try to load another page or transfer other data during the call the data connection is unavailable.
