I just got my pearl and wanted to get my yahoo emails to my phone but it does not seem to work

Do i need to upgrade my yahoo account

Do you know any email (Web based free) that i can use on my blackberry

I have one free and one paid Yahoo account. They can be set up to automatically forward e-mail to other accounts, accept BB's "push," etc. I don't know if there is a difference between the two accounts because I only set up the paid account to work with my Pearl.

Why don't you upgrade your Yahoo account. I think it is about $10 or so for a full year. After that they don't put ads on to the mail page.

Are you on T-Mo? Do you have a data plan?

I ask because you inquire about free web based mail. I assume you have a data plan so to access the Net, so why the concern about free web based mail?

Are you in the U.S.? Probably not if you are referring to "50MB" as that is referring to your data plan.

On Yahoo check their POP options page.

Also, I think Yahoo is like others, they have a "mobile" version of their mail, for long on by mobile phones.

You will only like the phone more and more as you use all its features. E.g., last night I was at workout and watched two Seinfeld episodes while on the machines. That alone is worth the price of the phone.

yep i just looked into my yahoo account and i do it need to upgrade the account to Yahoo Mail Plus

I really dont know what you are doing but this is how I got my yahoo email to get push by blackberry to my phone go to menu scroll down to set up internet email click on it you have two options one is services and settings underneth settings you have a email accounts click on that. now you have an option that reads add email account click on it then it prompts you to fill in email address password and confirm password and that should be it thats if you enrolled for either BIS or BES i personally have BIS and it works like a charm even tho I feel that my gmail account arrives a lot faster then yahoo by a couple secs but what ever also this is with tmobile Im assuming you have tmobile as a service provider right

you can also try using my.t-mobile.com instead of the phone's email registration tool. i found the real website worked better

What do you mean it does not seem to work? A little more detail would help here.

You don't need to upgrade your Yahoo account to retrieve emails from it on a blackberry, mine are regular free Yahoo accounts and work fine. To set it up, go to my.t-mobile.com and log in. Once in there you will see a link for setting up email accounts on your blackberry. Click on that, then add your Yahoo account. If it works, you should receive a registration message on your BB. Then about 10 minutes later it should be working.

As another option, you can also access your Yahoo account through mobile.yahoo.com on the BB browser.

He is sketchy with his post and his profile says nothing about his location.

I suspect he is in Europe or Canada? Plus, he may not have BB e-mail services, but some kind of "50MB" data plan, which may not include BB service.

He may be trying to access Yahoo mail via his Pearl's browser.

If he has the full data plan with BB e-mail service, then it would be easy to answer his query.

It is really hard to figure out what he is doing based on his limited post. Especially in not knowing what kind of plan he has, etc.

I use Yahoo, GMail and Hotmail as well as the BlackBerry Enterprise server, on my Pearl. The BES is set up through the IT department at work, and the personal accounts I set up using the BlackBerry Web Client. You can add up to 10 different external POP accounts. Works great for me! Each email account has it's own "mailbox" on the Pearl, plus the messages all go into the main Messages folder. When you reply to an email, it replies from the account it was received.

Depending on your Carrier, there is a different URL for the BlackBerry Web Client.

Once you set up the Web Client, you may need to contact your Carrier to delete your old Service Book and resend a new one. If you are familiar with the Service Books then you can do it on your own.

Its easy, just go to t-mobile.com and go to your phone profile and set up email account. It took 2 minutes and it is set up to my home page on my phone.

My Yahoo account is instantaneous when sending mail to my Blackberry. No lag or delay. Sweet!

its like any other email you use. usually its instantaneous but there are always a few that can take hours even days to reach you.

But i only get email to my instant email account no emails from yahoo

And i got a email to my BB saying it will be working in 20 mins

ITS Working now i downloaded this thing called service books and i got all my emails on my BB

Are you sure, I have a free Yahoo account, and when I go to Yahoo mail option, check under POP and forwading, it says I need to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Pro, which is $19.95/year. I've tried setting up Yahoo mail using both BB and TMobile website, both failed, I think due to restriction on POP access to free Yahoo mail account. Are you sure your Yahoo mail account didn't get upgraded by one of Yahoo's partners? Mine was upgraded for 2 years while I had SBC DSL.
