Default Best Trillian-like IM program for 8100?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm putting this in the 8100 forum because I have read that not all IM programs run on all BBs equally and I have an 8100. I use Trillian on the desktop because I have MSN/ICQ/GTalk/AIM/Yahoo IM accounts and buddies on all of them. Trillian brings it all together seamlessly. Is there a good equivalent for the 8100 that you would recommend? I understand that there are several out there (IM+, etc) but which would you recommend? Thanks.

Check out IM+ from Shape Services. It works on the 8100 according to them, and it definitely works on the 8700 and 7130, so I believe them. (I'm waiting for the Cingular version of the 8100...)

Thank you, but I'm aware of the definition of elaboration.

Thicken up your skin holmes.

There was a time that it was a good last name if your first name was John.

So for those who have tried both:

Is googletalk with jabber <better> than the RIM Yahoo IM client, in terms of usage? I am pretty happy with the yahoo messenger.

(I am referring to yim only, I know jabber can also do aim, but i don't really need aim)

Thanks,
-Dan

Definitely not better than the native YIM client.

agreed. now that my edge service is finally working right, i can use ramble for aim and i dont have a need for google talk. its nice that google puts all contacts together, but after using it i noticed its not very easy to tell who is idle, away, busy or whatever. it just says they are online or not, and that doesnt tell you much when most people are 'away'.

im betting google talk will get better with time. its nice to see a free program that pools all clients together for your phone, thats for sure. hopefully google continues its largely free software selection, its been a godsend for the internet in general.
