Default Seidio Crystal Case Problems

Anyone else having problems getting their Crystal Case for the 8100 to snap on the top of the device?

I just got mine, and the bottom snaps into place perfect, but the top down to about the halfway point just doesn't snap. It's loose and easy to open.

Try latching in place the top first, then side, then bottom.

It was hard to get mine to work. Make sure your tabs aren't bent that engage the other half of the case. One major minus to this case is that it blocks the speaker on the Pearl. I am glad I bought the discounted one as if I had paid full retail I wouldn't be too happy with it. It sure isn't worth $20+.

The cutouts are genearlly pretty good but I think it should have a normal retail more in the mid teens. I would have preferred the smoked one but after getting mine I won't be buying another one until they are cheaper or if there is a group buy.

OTOH, their headest adapter (2.5mm -> 3.5mm) is pretty decent. I bought the one with the built in mic and it works pretty well.

That is what i figured... don't get me wrong, i bought the rubberized case and still waiting for it... but i have always experienced mass production defects with innopocket, and other case makers... it really depends on the case maker and their customer service.

I said earlier that the plastic cases shouldn't cost more than 16.99. I still stand by that.

Hi,

We tested the sound difference with and without the case on and it just wasn't appreciable enough to change our design. Do you actually hear a significant difference in volume with and then without the case? That wasn't our experience here. Thanks for the kind words about our adaptors. They are (for right now) a few of the only solutions around.

I haven't noticed a significant decrease in sound on my Pearl with the crystal case or the skin.

Me neither. I was watching an episode of Simpsons on a moderately packed bus, max volume and I could still hear what the characters were saying without an earpiece.

My question is why did they (seidio) put the small square next to the speaker port instead of just cuttint a small rectangle over the port? just seems like it would have made more sense. It does affect the volume how much is a matter of oppinion.

I too am having a hell of a time getting the case to stay closed. I have started at the top, I have started at the bottom, I have tried every way but, and it still won't lock closed.
I don't want to break this expesive little case, but, I feel like it could snap off at the corners.

Hmm I've tried everything I can think of, and I'd say I can get it to "snap" into place over 90% of the phone. One of the corners is always "unsnapped" no matter which way I put it on.

I talked to our product develpment people and they strongly suggest closing the top half of the case first and then closing the bottom. This seems to work almost all the time. If you are still having problems getting the case closed that way, please call or email our tech support folks at: 832-204-1114 or [email address].

Personally for me I will admit I had some issues getting the top so "snap" shut but after some fiddling around I got it to close properly. I tried closing it from the top first many times and it never worked. I don't know how I got the thing to close but I did so I won't fuss with it now.

Customer service was quick to act on my phone call. However, I am still without a case/cover until I get the RA and then return, and then wait for the replacement.

I hope the new one works or I will return for full credit.
