Default A friend in need....

Please Login to Remove!

So I go to use my Pearl today and theres a little icon that says "reset" with the words "App Error 523" above it in the center of my screen. I clicked the icon, it reset but appears again. I took the battery out and replaced but icon and words still appear. It will not let me leave the screen at all.

I am assuming it has something to do with an app I downloaded from google that creates a shortcut to gmail. I downloaded it a few days ago but today, after playing with my gmail settings, realized it could be changed to a pop3.

I thought maybe I could sync it to my desktop manager and delete the app but it wouldn't sync.

Anyone know what I could try next???

You are right, that is probably a java error having to do with that program you installed. But I do not know the fix.

Do a google search with that exact error and "blackberry" and see what turns up. Here:

I have this problem fairly regularly. Keep hitting reset; it usually takes 3 or 4 resets for the error to clear.

I typically receive this error message when I have java apps running in the background (i.e. Meteor Crusher) and I put the phone into standby using the mute button. When I bring the phone back up the error occurs. So the only workaround I have is to make sure everything that can be closed is closed prior to standby.

Thanks for the links. read around for a while but sounds like the only fix is to wipe the os and reinstall. Only problem is that the phone wont sync to the desktop manager.

Any way to delete an OS without a sync?
