I am trying to use it right now on MI3. So far, it looks like its working great. If this pans out, this is the way to do it. SUPER easy. Definitely got my 5 bucks if it works.

Did not work for me, chose Smartphone, added a video, increased the audio bitrate, and encoded

transfered to my pearl, loaded but did not play, just stayed at 0:00, no video no sound

thank you though, I'll continue to use the mplayer method

I am not installing this program. Instead of just haphazardly installing on someone else's brief pitch, I went to that Site. I noted:

1. There is no mention of the Pearl [which I'd like to see].

2. Seems more a sales pitch to have you press the link and buy their other program, "Lathe."

3. The seller's FAQ in answering why the program crashes is not all that reassuring:

Your program made my computer crash !

> This program is in its early stages of development, so it is possible it contains some bugs. I'm not responsible for any damage this program could cause to your computer...

Not to toot my own thread, but I will, my recommendation of the $15 BlackBerry Video Creator still stands. BBVC is designed specifically for the Pearl. That puts it at the top of the list for me.

He says that so people don't end up suing him.

But since other people are having problems with the program than maybe I will not download it.

the trick is to leave everything as default. Increasing the bitrate did not work for me neither, and leaving everything as a default worked flawlesly

i just loaded the app fine on my pc... there is no install... from what i can gather i believe it is using .net ... so make sure your frameworks are up to date.. hence the crashing.... probably.

I placed a restore point and decided to try this out.

Yes, there is no install. It is an exe app that opens each time you want to convert.

I noted that it does not convert FLV flash files, like BlackBerry Video Creator does. It also cannot convert WMV files.

I converted avi and mov files and it did those fine. But when I loaded them on the Pearl, the "loading" icon appeared and they loaded. But there was just a blank [or black] screen with no sound.

I opened them on my desktop and they did play with my VLC media player.

So not sure what the problem is.

Guess I'll stick with my BlackBerry Video Creator as it is truly one click. There are no settings like on this program, but at least for me it makes videos that play on my Pearl.

Here are a couple of the SmartPhone converts I made with the program. Maybe they will play on your Pearl.
