Default New to 8100 Pearl

I have an 8100 Pearl and was wondering if there is a way to manage the system settings from the PC (address book, settings on programs, etc...)? Some type of manager that allows you to directly make changes to the Pearl. I am not syncing to any specific program. I am using my Yahoo! account for e-mail.

I have looked for this info and couldn't find what I was looking for so sorry if this is a repost.

Welcome to BB Forums!

There is no desktop program specifically for the BlackBerry. Most people use Outlook to manage their contacts, calendar, notes and tasks, and sync via the included USB cable and Intellisync, which is part of the Desktop Manager program. You can use Outlook Express, but that is for contacts/Address Book only..

Hope that helps and good luck.

Welcome to the forums

The short answer is no. Custom program settings need to be done from the perl. You can back them up using desktop manager but I do not think you can edit the settings of specific programs from the desktop manager.

I can't use the NEW desktop manager because i am on Linux and do not use windows but I know previous versions of the desktop manager did not allow this.

Maybe someone else will chime in
