Default incoming call/sms name recognition

Please Login to Remove!

Hi! Just received my new pearl and i am having a problem with incoming call recognition and texts/sms. If, for example i have a mobile number in my contacts as 0123412345 then all is fine when i get the incoming call, the name comes up and i know who is calling. Say however that same person texts me, the number will come in as +44123412345, the number is not recognised as being in my contacts and i have no idea who the text/sms is from.

the same happens in the reverse, if the number is held as +44etc then sms is recognised but the incoming voice caller is not!

How do i rectify this other than having every number in my contacts twice?

its driving me nuts!

thanks if you can help!

I had the same problems with original Vodafone OS, I updated to Rogers OS and it has solved it

When it displays EGDE, that means that you have a faster connection that GPRS!

Try and update it to the rogers update (its the 4th one down on the list click the link below)

BlackBerryOS 4.x Download FAQ - UPGRADE DOWNLOADS

You need to follow instructyions to the letter and see if it works.

ignore all the above replies it's not the case.

you need to go to call logs/options/smart dialing/country code and input +44. this will solve all your problems

I had this problem and did what you said Richard and it did not solve it as you said!

The only thing that sorted it was the Rogers update!

Please do not tell someone to ignore my suggestions! bad form

Default No sms sender name

I have the same problem (in US with country code +1) and Richard's suggestion didn't work for me. I have searched these forums for a while trying to figure out another way to get the sms sender's name to appear, but to no avail. Is there anyone else out there with an idea? Thanks in advance.
