Anyone have any luck getting this to work in the middle east, namely Qatar or Dubai?

I just unlocked mine, and I'm travelling all over saudi arabia, dubai, pakistan, london, iran while going on hajj. I'll let you know how it performs overseas while roaming. Should work just fine with a local sim popped in.

mine worked perfectly in London and Israel. I used Cingular's International plan.

It will work for voice and SMS for sure, and if you are roaming with T-Mobile, BlackBerry service will work as well.

However, if you are a resident there, you need to check if QTel and Etisalat offer BlackBerry service. When I was in Qatar last year, QTel did not offer BlackBerry service.
