Default Little Confused?

Please Login to Remove!

i have a 8700c with cingular and bb messenger works great, i have probably 4 buddies with the same set up and bb messenger works great, another buddy has a pearl unlocked using cingular and bb messenger works great. now my other buddy just bought an unlocked pearl using cingular has bb messenger installed and he cant find the bb messenger icon (its not hidden, and i have told him to reinstall, and do the battery pull). i keep reading that cingular doesnt support bb messenger, well why do i and all my other buddies have it working? even a friend with a pearl under cingular has bb messenger working. any ideas why he cant find the icon?

As an additional question to the above--
I have the 8700c and get the option to "Compose PIN"
Does this mean I have BB Mesanger? If so is there a charge for this 'per use'
Thanks

i think i figured it out, my buddy using the pearl his bb messenger app is 4.2, my bb messenger is 1.0.94, my buddy downloaded a bb messenger when he already had it and updated his 4.2 to 1.0.94 and he gets no icon. i do not think 1.0.94 works on the pearl.... does this sound right? and if so how can he download 4.2 or does he have to reinstall the os

well i figured out the problem basically there is a bb messenger version out on the bb website that is version 1.0.94, and that does not work on os 4.2, to use bb messenger on os 4.2 you need a special version bb messenger that comes with the tmobile os (may come with others). i does not matter if you have cingular.
