I suppose this could be for those who haven't updated to the O2 release and simply want to wait until the next one. All signs were pointing to no new OS versions for a while, but it appears we'll have another 'interim' release on a few carrier launch models (most notably, Optus in Australia) prior to the first 'major' upgrade for the 4.2 OS (or that's my assumption, atleast).

Nope. I would have posted it if it were known. Maybe some corporate customers with Optus can shed some light on the launch of the Pearl, if their reps have let them know? I'm guessing within a month.

Looks like a tentative November 28 release date. We'll see if this date holds true.

Please note to the late night and morning readers of this thread, when information such as the stuff mentioned above in my posts are shared, please don't ask for more information (release dates, bug fix details, etc). Keep in mind that I share pretty much all information I have with the forum, with some exceptions, so there is really no point in asking for more information when there simply isn't any available (or publically offered).

Smile and have a lovely day.

Sorry if this is completely noob, but is this for T-Mobile? If so, I won't even bother with .64...

Jason, welcome to the BlackBerry world.

Just so you know, all OS updates come from RIM (Research in Motion). So, all updates for the Pearl, no matter what carrier releases them, will work on all Pearls, no matter what carrier you have. The only thing you have to do is, delete the vendor.xml file if the release you are installing is from a different carrier then you have.

Sounds like it might (and I say might) be from Optus as per one of Jibi's posts. I highly doubt it's going to be another TMobile release. However, as McKinney stated, it really doesn't matter which carrier puts it out. You delete the vendor.xml file and it works on any Pearl.

Thanks for the info Jibi.

Haven't had time lately to upgrade to .64 and since .79 is tentatively a week away i think i'll just wait...
