Question BlackBerry Minutes & Mail

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have been doing some research on T-Mobile. I am currently on a family plan which includes my Blackberry & Sidekick. I have noticed that T-Mobile offers the Blackberry Minutes & Mail, which includes the following

Our national voice and data plans include:
Unlimited e-mail
Unlimited Web browsing
Text messaging
No nationwide long-distance or roaming charges
For BlackBerry® Enterprise plans: unlimited BlackBerry Enterprise Server* access
*Note: To access corporate e-mail through the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, your company must have the server installed.

This plan features:
Whenever minutes 1000 per month
Weekend minutes None
Weeknight minutes None
myFaves minutes N/A
Mobile to mobile minutes None
Shared minutes None
Additional minutes $.35 per minute
Data transfer Unlimited
Included Text Messages Unlimited
My E-mail Unlimited
Corporate My E-mail None
HotSpot None

for the price of $59.99. In my opinion I believe the best thing to do is go on seperate plans sidekick and me with my blackberry. The only problem is I noticed that this plan don't include unlimted nights & weekends. Does T-Mobile offer that package if I were to choose this plan and in your opinion what do you guys think will I be saving some money???

Thanks,
GQ

I've been on that plan for a few years. If you can stay under 1000 minutes a month this plan works great. Unlimited data, text, and email with no roaming charges. My wife is also on tmo but a family plan will not let you get max usage from your bb. IMHO, separate plans are the way to go.

if you guys saw my thread about the 19.99 BB PLAN AND THE 14.99 UNLIMITED MSGS PLAN, someone posted up that you can add the MyFaves option to this plan for 9.99/mo.

To me, the 5 people that eat the most of my minutes will be covered with the MyFaves, I can stay under 1000 a month with those 5 covered. So it's one hell of a plan if done right!

Doesn't look like tmo gives you the unlimited nights and weekends option with any of the unlimited data plans. Sounds like you could really use the night/weekend unlimited minutes.

Ha, they want you to own 2 phones and 2 separate plans!

Evidently, if you choose a BB Minutes and Mail plan you may have to extend your contract with T-Mobile. Here's the "fine print" from their site:

*Promotional plan will require a contract extension.
If you select a promotional plan you will not be able to make further changes to your plan online until after it has taken effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If you require further assistance, please call Customer Care at 1-800-937-8997 or 611 from your mobile phone.

Still seems like a pretty good deal, since I just signed up for a 2-year contract about a month ago. I'm currently on the $39.99 "Get more 1000" plan with unlimited BB for $19.99. If I choose the $59.99 "BB Minutes & Mail" plan I receive unlimited text messaging for basically the same price as my current package. Am I reading that correctly? Plus, it looks like TMo has recently increased the fee for the BB unlimited to $29.99.

I was told that the $59.99 BB Minutes and Mail was a promotional plan when I signed up two years ago. TMO is really pushing the Pearl so they're probably trying that promotional plan again, it's really worked for me. With teenagers in the family I use text messaging more than I ever thought I would, still it depends if you can stay under 1000 minutes a month which I'm usually able to do.

Yes you do get unlimited text messaging with the $59.99 plan. Also, the $29.99 unlimited data plan is if you don't have a voice plan. If you add it to a voice plan it's $19.99.

With the $9.99 myFaves add-on you get unlimited minutes to ANY 5 phone numbers, including land lines.
