Default Cingular MediaNet Not Working

Please Login to Remove!

I spent about 2 hours on the phone with Cingular Support yesterday with no resolution, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I got a new Cingular 8100 yesterday and got it all set up. Email and Blackberry browser work fine, but the MediaNet browser doesn't work, nor does sending MMS. Also Opera Mini fails during setup, but the Gmail and Google Maps applications work fine. It seems like some network setting is messed up, but I can't figure out which one. I looked at my Service Books and I don't have any that say Cingular Browser or anything like that. Could that be the problem?

I imagine I'll need to get Cingular CS to fix this, but I was hoping someone here has had the same problem?

I have the same problem. I called support yesterday & both support specialists confirmed to me that becasue of the wind storms that came through many of the areas in the eastern US on Thursday/Friday; that there was widespread outage of access to web service on the cing. network. I am surprised it is taking this long for cingular to correct but both support persons told me the same thing.

I don't think that's the case because my wife's Samsung SYNC can access MediaNet without any problems.

Do you have a BlackBerry Data plan? No BlackBerry Data plan, no internet. MediaNet did not work on any previous BlackBerry. Don't know if anything changed with the Pearl to allow it.

i had the same problem... some how my plan got changed on my account...and some line items got deleted... make sure your on the right plan... i would say have them take it off, re put it on and then power cycle your phone... that is what i had to do...

i also had to talk to the "blackberry" support part of cingular to figure this out... the regular support kept wanting to put me on the new 54.99 plan which did not work... it has to be the 44.99 unlimited plan...

the above is what worked for me...

Yeah, I have the BlackBerry Max plan, which includes BIS access and 1000 SMS/MMS messages.
