Default Tutorial on using 8100 as modem (Mac) - 12-03-2006, 05:25 PM

I am using an 8100 but cannot for the life of me figure out how to use it as a USB connected modem. I am on a MacBookPro and was told that I needed to use PocketMac for Blackberry, which I installed, however still cannot get it to work.

Is there a step by step tutorial somewhere that outlines what Mac users need to do in order to use the Pearl for internet connectivity?

I have a macbook pro and use it all of the time. use the file below, put it in main hd/library/modem scripts then reboot and then connect your 8100 via bluetooth and after pass key is put in select "Use a direct, higher speed blah blah" select continue user guest pw guest gprs cid string wap.voicestream.com modem script BlackBerry 8100 everything else default. Are you with tmo? Remove the .txt from the file it would not allow me to add it if you have trouble I will stuffit. Hope this helps

There is a thread about this in the Mac section.

Try this one: Fibble.org. If you run into problems, let me know and I'll try to help.

Can this script be modified for the 8800?

No one answered this question, though.

I have a base g4 mac mini, no wifi, no bluetooth. Pocketmac didn't sync, the modem scripts have done nothing, bluetooth dongle, and nada....grr.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
