Okay this makes some sense. I "discussed" this with Cingular also and they told me that the only BB plan I could get that included unlimited was 44.99. They said there was nothing cheaper on the consumer side. Now, that being said, my biz partner who uses BIS on a non biz account just had his plan changed from 44.99 to 29.99 with no problem and still retains unlimited. I guess he's just missing unlimited text? You would think Cingular would make this easier to understand but their plans are quickly ranking up there with the IRS tax code.

Are you sure about that? There was a discussion about Cingular rate plans. I don't remember if it was here or another forum.

I go and double check on that on Cingular website. I'll be back.

But I am sure for personal use, it is $29.99.

Be persistent, the unfortunate thing is all reps don't know about it. The product knowledge could use work. If all else fails, ask for a supervisor. Good luck

Success!

Although now the BB internet browser seems unable to connect and Opra mini is a little spotty. trying a soft reset to see if that corrects the problem.

I had the 44.99 plan until an hour ago. If you don't need to connect to your works mail server than call and switch.

I have a plan code "BBRYUNL ALL4", $29.99 through Premier. I was told this plan includes 1000 SMS/MMS. Anybody else has this plan and can confirm? Thanks

I switched two phones down to the 29.99 plan and both of them lost the blackberry browser. I just had to call in to Cingular and ask for someone in the BB Data area and they reprovisioned the browser for me and everything worked fine after that.

Okay, I called Cingular this morning and the only plan they could change me to is the $39.99 plan (from originally the $44.99 plan). She said that the $29.99 plan is for non-blackberry devices only.

What is going on with Cingular??? Do they have regional plans??? Why do some people get the $29.99 plan and others do not? And I happen to be one of the unfortunate ones who does not.

I wish Cingular would read these forums............ Oh well. Life's a .....Cingular data plan...............

I thought my question was answered, but then after reading the whole thread I am confused again.

On Cingular only:

If I am on a BES, then I have to stick with the $44.99 plan ($49.99 w/o voice)?

Yes, if you are on a Bes then you need to be on the $44.99 plan

I just spoke to Cingular and they jumped all over me when I gave them the plan code that "justdonating" posted. They told me that plan did not exist and that the cheapest plan I could get is the $39.99 plan.

I'm sooooo confused. I'm tired of dealing with it. I may just stick with the $39.99 plan and try calling again next month. There are too many dingleberries to deal with.

This is my first post but wanted to chime in.

Me and my wife share a voice plan, my BB plan is $29.99 unlimited, no text messaging. This is a BIS.
Could it be that the 29.99 unlimited offer is extended to new blackberry users?

Default Problems? - 12-30-2006, 09:28 PM

I have the 39.99 BB Personal Unlimited plan w/ 1000 messages and I just got a bill where I am being charged for internet use. It lists Internet as "pay per use". Anyone have similar problems?

Cory...I pm'd you as your e-mail address bounced back to me?

I got T-mobile BB unlimited data plan for 29.99 300 text messagings included (with voice plan-10 dollars off, when u got 19.99+voice plan) unfortunately, for 19.99 no 300 text messagings, I believe.

I see Cingular only 5 dollars off when u got data and voice plan.

I followed with interest the discussion of Cingular's confusing data service plans. My Pearl permits WAP browsing through the MediaNet service, but not full html browsing (I get an "Error starting net_rim_ldap_browser_x509: Module 'net_rim_bb_browser' not found." message whin I click on the browser icon. I tried downloading Opera, but it is also unable to connect to the internet.

I have the $29.99 "Blackberry Internet Service Plan." All of the sales information suggests that the only difference between this and the $44.99 "Blackberry Unlimited" plan is that the latter provides BES connectivity. However, a Cingular Tier 2 service guy told me yestereday that I need the more expensive plan to get full web browsing capability. This distinction is not explained in any of the Cingular or Blackberry websites, that I could find. It could explain, in part, the different data pricing plans that have confused many people.

Does this make sense to you? Is there any way that I can get full browsing capability with the $29.99 plan?

I work for Cingular and there are two unlimited BB data plans, 49.95 and 34.95. If you have a voice plan with cingular then there is a $5 discount making both plans 44.95 and 29.95 respectivly. The difference between the two is one is BES one is BIS. Blackberry enterprize service and Blackberry internet service. The more expensive one enables you to connect to your works enterprize server. That is the only difference. Also you can tether with either one of these services, cingular does not want you to know that.

I agree with Kallaus. Not only because he is right, but also because he is right. Cingulars is also more spendy because they have the biggest network. it cost more to get more data service in the areas that t-mobile doesnt touch. And thats alot of area.

Untrue......... I have the 29.99 plan and it is unlimited. I only have to pay $4.99 extra for 200 text messages. I got this on my own, no company affiliation. I just paid my bill yesterday, so I'm not dreaming. It took me about 5 phone calls with Cingular for them to get it right, but eventually I spoke to the lone individual who actually knows what they're talking about.

I just cleared this up for you, two posts above yours. There is a $5 discount for having voice services with cingular. This makes the UNLIMITED 34.99 data plan 29.99. This is not that confusing and it is correct on cingulars website.

No, it's not that confusing........for educated individuals. As for the reps at cingular; they know nothing about it. That's the point everyone is making, kallaus. We know what the plan is; it's just getting a rep to acknowledge it is a pain in the butt. We're not as stupid as you may think.

It says on my bill that i have the BBRYUNL ALL4(Eff02/03/07 ). Does anybody know what this means(the Eff02/03/07 part)? Also, When I check my data usage, I have unlimited data, and also unlimited text. Is this right? The weird thing is that it says $0.00 next to the BBRYUNL.

Added Features

Monthly Cost
Unlimited Shared $9.99
IMS APN Feature $0.00
BBRYUNL ALL4 (Eff02/03/07 ) $0.00

What is the Unlimited share?

Any insight appreciated and thanks in advance.

This is the same plan that I have and I was told by a tier 2 rep that this included unlimited internet browsing and unlimited messaging (sms/mms). Also I got the first month free. I will be keeping an eye out on it because I don't want any surprises later.

The 29.99 BIS plan is unlimited internet and email. It is offered only to cingular customers that have a blackberry, so it is not listed on the cingular web site. Like stated above it does not include sms/mms. I upgraded through Amazon.com and it was an option to add to my existing voice package.

OK, to all Cingular users if you are talking to teh CS let them go to the Cingualr website and look at this link for BB Personal and prove them wrong with it. The name of the plan should be BBRYBISUNL, also make sure that the device that shows in their system is the BB pearl, it could very well be showing another none BB device and that could be why they can't see teh BB options.

I jut got the BBRYUNL_ALL4 plan for $39.99 added onto my account. Somone posted the code for it and I gave it to the csr and he added it for me. I hope I will not be charged for Internet use as another guy here posted, because I will be very unhappy!

I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the thread but I don't know how you guys manage to fork over 30-50? dollars a month for internet on the phone, that is more than my SBC yahoo DSL. I'm not saying that i can't afford it, but i just don't think it's worth it.

Of course you could reply with why the hell i would get a blackberry if i don't intend on using the internet features.

How much more useful/awesome is the blackberry with the internet plan anyways?

*shrug* I don't think $40/bottle wine is worth it, nor do I think the price of most luxury cars is worth it. Different strokes for different folks.

It's kind of like asking what it's like to ride a motorcycle in the mountains. Unless you've really experienced it yourself, you just can't truly understand it. ;)
