Hey gang,

I just did the latest TMO update on my 8100 and everything went through ok (lost my Remote Desktop connections - but no biggie).

Anyway, the only issue I have run into is that when I attempt to log into MS Messenger - I get an Email from "4705" and it has a ton of alpha numeric garbage in the subject and body (WV11RL...)...

What am I forgetting? What settings were lost when I did the upgrade and how can I get back to my IM working?

You will need to re-enter your APN settings if you haven't done that yet? They always get cleared when you do an update.

Thanks for the response - I already had my APN set to: wap.voicestream.com

I no longer get that email but it gets up to 80% now then blows this error:

"! LOGIN ERROR (500)"

What the heck is that? I have double and triple checked my user ID and password and they are correct???

The "stock" one that comes with my 8100. I use MS Messenger.

Not sure why that would be happening. Just so you know, that OZ Messenger uses SMS and not data, so hopefully you have a big texting plan if you continue to use that program.

I have heard of other members using a program mig33 - mobile chat for MSN Messenger and supposedly it uses data. Good luck.

After my TMO update I had to manually give the OZ Messenger application permission in the phone's firewall to act as a server, otherwise I got "funny" SMSs.
