Default Stereo BT Headset support - NOT?

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, let me put this out there and you can shoot me down if I'm way off the target: The Blackberry Pearl touts its capabilities as a multimedia player -- but you can't listen to your MP3s in stereo on a Bluetooth -- or even a wired headset.

Does this make any sense?

I bought a $99 BT stereo headset (SPIDER) that claims to work both as a phone headset (Headset and Hands Free profiles) and for listening to stereo music (A2DP and AVRCP profiles). I got the thing paired up, but I wasn't hearing any music. Then it dawmed on me that the BB Pearl doesn't even play stereo music. It doesn't support even the A2DP profile.

^^^true

As disappointing as it is, a little research before getting the phone would've revealed that the Pearl does not support A2DP

You're right. I could have downloaded the user manual PDF and done a search in Acrobat on the term "A2DP" and immediately found....ooops

Nothing.

Okay, never mind that, I could have gone right on the Blackberry site and done a search there....ooops

No search box.

Okay, never mind that, I could have gone on one of these forums and found a post by some sucker who bought this multimedia Blutooth phone but didn't do "a little research" and assumed too much....ooops

Looks like I am the sucker.

This is the very first multimedia phone put out by RIM. You can't expect it to have every bell and whistle. Where would the excitement be with future models?
