| Email help requested Please Login to Remove! I have the Cingular BLACKBERRY CONNECT UNL plan. Does that entitle me to an email address thru the BB network? If so, do I set it up thru the email setup icon or the BB browser? Also, what info do they need to ID me, such as PIN, PW, etc? Thanks. | | Offline

| Cingular's web site says that BlackBerry Connect is only for the Nokia E62, Treo 650, or Nokia 9300 to connect to BIS or BES. | | Offline

| That's interesting. I'm looking at my contract. Perhaps their website is not so up-to-date. They just added the 8100 Dec. 1. | | Offline

| If he has the Setup Internet E-Mail icon on his BB, and it shows EDGE in the upper right hand corner, he has the right plan. | | Offline

| For the 8100 they offer 'BlackBerry Personal', 'BlackBerry Corporate', and 'Blackberry Tethered'. The 'BlackBerry Connect' is for non-BB phones to have access to the BlackBerry email services. | | Offline

| I believe the Setup Internet E-Mail icon is a service book pushed down when a connection is made. Of course, I may be wrong and he has the wrong plan on his account. Wouldn't be the first time! | | Offline

| Well, I tried to set up my email acct via the icon and was connected to the BB network. When I tried to sign up as a new user, it said this unit is already regestered (probably by the Cingular girl who sold me the unit). When I tried to log in I didn't know the acct name and p/w to use so I used my phone no. and that didn't work. It sounds like it should work when I know how to sign it. | | Offline

| BB Connect is only for non-BlackBerry phones. You may want to check that out, you don't to get any surprises later on your bill

| Just to wrap up this thread, I was successful in getting my email address thru mycingular.blackberry.net. So it would appear that yes, BB connect now is for Blackberry phones, at least the 8100. | | Offline
