Default Stereo Adapter for Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Like many others, I was excited about the media player built into the new Pearl and frustrated to find the plug is different (smaller and 4 part instead of 3). There are no really great stereo headphones for a cell (Plantronics, Jarba and others are probably just okay). I have some great Shure e4c for my ipod and the cell phone ones, would be a huge step down.

I was able to locate a stereo adapter at a Verison store (cingular didnt have any), that works great. It also adds a mic and volume control to the e4c setup...and I still get to use my great headset. It was only $14.95 and solved my problem...

Just and FYI for others with the same dilema.

I use the same headphones I used for my Ipod. Which are the sony earbuds and they sound just as good as my Ipod.

When the Pearl first came out in September this was discussed in detail. The problem is that the Pearl port is 2.5mm and standard headphones are 3.5mm.

At the time there were some adapters that worked, but Seidio came out with two adapters made for cell phones. [They now have some others, including a retractable model].

The lesser priced adapter is an adapter only, the higher priced adapter includes a microphone and answer call button.

I have both. They work fine and have allowed me to use my high end head and ear phones when listening to MP3 tunes or watching video.
