Default Memory card issue/bug?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8100 on 4.2.0.42, I got a 1gb from buy.com (thanks for the killer deal link!) and the phone won't allow me to format it.

I rebooted and the phone allowed me to format it.

Question is why I cannot manage folders - new folder, change name of folder, etc from the media application as stated in the manual. I click on the menu button as explained poorly in the 8100 user manual and I do not get the option to make a new folder or change/rename, etc.

I have tried this with mass storage on and off, etc.

workaround = turn mass storage on and do it from your PC.

Why is the manual so poorly written and inaccurate?

So it goes.

Anyone else have this issue? Other than that the biggest bug so far is the screen brightness randomly gets super bright for no reason.

Other than that I love it!

Welcome to the forums as I see this is your first post.

This is an obvious question but you do have a Micro SD memory card correct?

I would upgrade to the latest firmware that T-Mobile (or any other carrier) has put out beefore you do much more troubleshooting.

I have the micro SD. I got it working, just required a couple reboots. I have been lurking this forum for about 3 years, but never had to post since everything you could possibly need answered has been answered and I know how to search.

I am really having challenges with this phone, my last one was the 7100t and this phone is light years away in terms of functionality. I need to spend some quality time learning it. I mostly use my bb as a work tool and phone, so up to now there hasn't been much messing around with advanced features.

This site has been great and thanks to all that have made it so useful to me over the last few years.

Regards
