Default Phone Logs (All)

Please Login to Remove!

My previous BB was a 8700 and a 7280 before that. I've recently been upgraded to the Pearl and for the most part really like it. One thing that is annoying the heck out of me is getting to the phone logs.

On my previous BBs, I could go into the message application and then hit Alt-P to bring up a listing of all Phone calls (Missed, Incoming, Outgoing). On the Pearl, when you hit Alt-[OP] it goes to the 'Outgoing Phone Log' instead. I just want a list of all the calls, regardless of their type - Is there a shortcut to get that?

Currently I have to bring up the menu, select Folder, then Phone Logs which will show Incoming/Outgoing - but not missed. Then I have to go into the menu, select Folder, then Missed for those. Am I missing something or is this an unfortunate funcationality change??

Thanks

Go to the phone app and press the options button. Then hit Options> General options. There you will find an entry calledPhone list view. You can adjust you phone log view to your needs.

I just press the Talk key once and my entire call log shows on the screen.

JClark,

Thats odd. I would expect to see the same on mine then. When I hit Alt-[OP] to title at the top changes to 'Outgoing' thus showing me all the Placed calls instead of All Calls. Are you doing anything special to send it an Alt-P instead of an Alt-O since those two keys are bound together?

I hit alt-OP and get "phone calls" (placed), alt-UI and get received calls (incoming). alt-AS gets me sms messages.
Maybe we have to do what Szadzik said above to see 'em all at once on the same screen?

From the Messages app:

When I hit alt-OP I get "Phone Calls." In the list I have received, placed and missed. (I haven't done anything special)

When I hit Alt-UI I get "incoming" which includes emails, pins and received calls.

When I hit Alt-M I get MMS messages.

When I hit Alt-AS I get SMS messages.

When I hit Alt-CV I get voicemail messages.

As my sig says I'm using .67 OS but it seems like my list has always been like that.

This only changes the call log view in the phone app.

...actually it doesn't show your ENTIRE call log. It only shows the recent calls and you can't delete them all from there. To test this delete all your phone calls from your call log in the phone app. Now go to messages, view folder, phone call logs (or ALT-OP as we are discussing) and see what's in there....more phone call logs that dont show in the phone app.

I'm running 4.2.0.69. I wonder if there is a difference there (Cingual here).

TheBigNewt:
Are you on Cinular or the .69 code? You get/experience the same thing I do. I would have expected everyone to be pretty much the same.

For me, I don't like using the 'call logs' function as it isn't sorted like the message list is.

I have tmobile 4.2.64. I can get the various call categories just as John Clark listed them above. I guess you can't get the whole call thing in one keystroke to see/delete.

John said he sees 'all phone calls' on an Alt-OP, but I thought you said you only got 'placed / outgoing' -- not the same, correct? (Seems very weird that .64 and .69 would show only outgoing, but .67 code would show 'all'. Gotta be something I/We are doing. Kinda hard to mess up hitting Alt-OP tho.

Is there a way to signal a real 'Alt-P'? It seems hitting the Alt-OP is really sending an Alt-O. Maybe somehow John is sending an Alt-P instead.?

Acutally what I said was that the title says "phone calls" but the logs contain outgoing, incoming, and missed.

What theme are you using? I'm using BB-Dimension Zen. It might be theme specific. That would be my guess before a software difference.

I just switched the the BB Dimension Zen theme. From the Messages application Alt-OP switches to 'Outgoing' (the top title) still showing only Placed Calls. I'm baffled.
