Question new message alerts - bemused

Please Login to Remove!

I'll try to make this quick as I dont want people losing the will to live

Up until this week, whenever I had new messages (email/sms/mms) come into the pearl I had a red star come up on the unread message counter at the top of the screen.

Now for no aparent reason it no longer appears - except for sms messages. The message icon (to take me to inbox) has a star on it when ANY new message is in.

This is rather annoying as usually have a) lots of unread messages at any time b) the keyboard on lock so i only see the unread counter at the top of the screen

now I have to remember how many unreads I had last time to decide if there's a new message, before unlocking pearl.

I have changed my profile so that new messages have led flashing or not and this doesn't seem to make any difference.

as I said this all the more annoying as I wasn't aware I had changed anything!

Open up your email application, hit menu, then options, then general options, then be sure new message indicator is set to yes, if not, set it to yes, then save on the way out.

Hope that helps...

Have you also tried taking the battery out and resetting your device? Dunno, may help.

When all else fails just remove the battery and hard reset.

For all of yesterday and only yesterday whenever I received a PIN message the red light would not stop flashing until the person messaged me again and I let all the alerts go through. Like if i checked the message before alerts ended the red light kept blinking. So I decided to do a hard reset and it solved the problem.
