Default Problems with BBWeather. - 12-09-2006, 11:51 PM

Just got BBWeather via the FAQ about killer software, yet I am getting an error mentioning something about a profile.

I searched and found similar error messages, with people saying to reinstall the app. I did this, and still run into the problem. I open the application up and it pops up the error, won't allow me to open options or anything within the program.

Any idea on how to make a profile, when the application won't even start up correctly? It dosen't even ask me for my zip code or anything.

Something about a profile? Does it say "No Profiles" or something like that?

You have to manually add the profiles. You don't need to install the app.

Start BBWeather. When the No Profile message appears - HIT THE PEARL BUTTON TWICE - no other buttons. You must then go into Options and add the profile. In that screen, you enter the Description and Zip Code.

Try pocket express. You get a free 30 day trial of all the services and after that you get to keep the news, sports and weather. You can get a 7 day weather update from that.

There is nothing wrong with BBWeather. It just has to be setup properly. Then it works very well. it's a great little app.

I had to put zipcode in ID and then I had to put in something for Description to be able to press ok.

But I get an error
Error: Could not find a service book entry for IPPP

I had problems getting bbweather installed as well. Found this site, followed his suggestions, and now everything works fine:

I found that site before I found this thread, therefore I am not a complete idiot. BUT, I guess I am a partial one.

I don't have - or can't find, or see, or whatthehellever - the option to enter a zipcode.

BBWeather options
current profiles:
*Empty*
Current conditions Poll
Interval (mins):
60
Forecast Poll Interval (Mins)
120
[]Disable MDS (this is checked)

color
color
color

When I click on the ball - i get the option to save or close. Thats it. All I get. IF I save - nothing. If I close - error:no weahter profiles specified. If I push the ball from that window - current condition, update now, options, close, exit. Options takes me back to the screen above. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have downloaded and replaced the current bbweather that already exists.

Any ideas?

From the screen above, push the menu button (button just to the left of the pearl) and select "add." In the "Location ID" put the zip code. In the Description put the City Name. Select OK. That should do it.

No, it uses the internal thermometer, spectrometer, barometer, and a windsock to give you the most current weather.

Nah...j/k!

Yes, it uses data. It updates every hour or two on it's own, too.

I followed those directions as well and got the open tunnel error too. I went back into the TCP settings and deleted and retyped in wap.voicestream.com and saved it. Nothing in the settings actually changed, but somehow deleting and resaving worked and the program now works.
