Default Here is how to add new options in Media Manager

Please Login to Remove!

If you want to have a slightly better control of the files in the Media Manager:

1) Close all BB apps (Desktop manager, BB device manager, ...)
2) search then open the file RIMShellExt.dll using an hex editor (i'm using Hex Workshop).
3) at offset 0E740E replace the value 0x68 by 0x00.

Note: if when saving you have an error saying that the file is in use, close the 'explorer.exe' process using the task manager.

This will give you the ability the browse all the users and samples files.

holy s**t!

it works!

but while you get access to the sample files so you can delete them if you want, you LOSE access to all the other files. so make sure you backup .dll file.

im just gonna delete the files i want and switch the .dll's back

You don't loose access to your 'usual' files: they are under home/user.

However notice that most of the 'samples' files cannot be deleted (as they are preloaded), this mod is just to view or copy them.
That's why this hack is just a *slight* improvement, but this may give some ideas to others (hex editing is always fun, but disassembling is better)

ok. i take back what i said before.

yes, your files still are visible. but no, this is not a cool hack.

i was able to copy everything to the phone but its all corrupted? none of it works. and as said above, you cannot delete anything from the phone.

however, its only a matter of time, hopefully, til we can do more with this kind of mod

Btw, you have all the controls that JSR75 permit. Nothing more, nothing less.
You can have the same thing on your BB using the Idokorro Mobile File Manager.
