The disk that you installed loaded desktop manager on your pc. When you run desktop manager with the pearl connected, you can then run media manager to copy files to the phone's memory. If you don't have a microSD card, you can only copy music, ringtones, and pics. Without a card, the files cannot be larger than 2.86MB each.
When you install a microSD card, the pearl will format the card with all the folders needed for media, including videos, music, ringtones, and pics. You must have a card to copy videos to the video folder. When you install a card in the phone it will ask you if you want to turn on mass storage mode. Select yes. This will allow you to access the microSD card from windows explorer just like other disk drives. You can then copy files into the folders that were created on the card.
Remember: you must disconnect the phone from your pc before you can access the files that you copied to the card.
