I read earlier today that someone was having problems with their text messages and call log dissapearing after a few moments. I started having this problem with my Cingular Pearl two nights ago.

If i don't check my missed calls or text messages right away then the history automatically clears and i have no idea who called or text messaged me.

When I go to the messages folder, my email is still there to view, but no text a the call log has vanished as well.

Is this a known issue or bug? does anyone have a fix?

known bug. been around since the pearl came out. completely random (i dont have it but my buddy does, A LOT!). even with latest firmware (im running the new cingular firm w/ no problems, buddy's using telefonica firm and he has probs with that. he will be on cingular by tomorrow).

just wait it out and keep updating firmware as it comes out.

or i DO recommend a backup of ur data and a full wipe of phone. that gets rid of probs sometimes.

I cleared up a bunch of memory last night and i still have my call log and txt messages from then. It hasn't cleared yet... maybe i was just running out of memory. I'm using the .69 version on cingular.

Don't worry I am having the same issues and I have plenty of memory space. I hope they can get that bug fix. I am going to try to upgrade to Cingular today.

I wish this issue would get firgured out so that I wouldnt lose all my message logs. anyone know if it affects all phones or just ones at random??

I had all of my past get deleted but then one from November 20th showed back up. and has been there for a couple of hours.

a day and a half and my txt messages and call logs are still on my pearl. i wonder if the problem will come back? I certainly hope not. As I mentioned before... i deleted and moved photos from my phone memory over to my sd card, i then powered down my phone, removed the battery and powered back up... no auto deleting txt messages and call logs since then.

I updated to the new cingular os and all my message and phone log has not delete themselves.

^not all of them do it. My Gfriends pearl never does it but my phone does it all the time!

Really pisses me off because I get a lot of messages during the day that I need when I get home.
