Default Anyone upgraded to Cingular OS v4.2.0.84?

Wondering if anyone out there has successfully installed BlackBerry Pearl Cingular OS v4.2.0.84 onto their 8100?

I can't find any detailed information about what exactly the upgrade provides and I haven't ever upgraded the OS on a BB-device. Should I expect a performance boost? Snappier operation?

I currently see my Pearl as 'not broke' so I am kinda hoping someone out there can let me know what I'll get for 'fixing' it with a new OS..

OK - there is a big thread on this already.

It is v4.2.0.69 - the package is called .84 in order to confuse everyone.

You will not find any information on what it fixes since release notes are very hard to come by. And none for this.

I have done the upgrade.

Here is the original thread..
