On my old BB if the phone rang I could move the track ball which would silence the ring. I know I can hit "ignore" and send them to VM but I would rather silence the ring and let it go all the way through so they don't know I "ignored" them.
if you have the 4.2.0.67 software, then you can hit the mute button to silence the ring. I am not sure if this is on the Cingular version. Does not work with any other OS.

pushing the mute button works on version 4.2.0.64.....just FYI.
