Default Should I update from .64??

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought a Pearl from T-Mobile a few days ago and love it. Great functionality and style. I get compliments on its design all the time. Such a great value for 200 bucks.

Anyway, one of the things that kinda irked me was the fact that the screen auto-dimmed depending on the light. I like this feature for battery-saving but I would still like the option to turn it off from time to time. Does version .67 let you do this?

Thank you

Wirelessly posted (BLACKBERRY 8703e (ALLTEL): BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/106)

I tap the power button on my 8703e. To switch between auto and manual. Not sure if it is the same with the Pearl.

The version he has doesn't allow him to turn it off. He has .64.

The only version that allows you to turn the Auto-dim off is .42, which is the original release version from T-mobile. Every version later then .42 got rid of the abiility to turn it off.

That sucks but I could see why they decided to get rid of it.

For me, it really doesn't matter.

I will only recommend upgrading if you need 2gb microSD.

I am not planning to upgrade until I have time to put music on my phone and get the 2gb microSD.
