Wouldn't that be cool, I wouldn't necessarily use it for video but there are some websites that would just view better with a little more width. Is this possible or am I'm dreaming, if I'm dreaming some blackberry genius make a prog!

You are mentioning the aspect ratio differences between portrait and landscape modes, much the same as we have had on PDA's.

I don't see this as being an issue or feature on the Pearl, simply because there is only an approximate Cm difference between the width and height of the Pearl display [in landscape mode, the display would be 2 cm wider]. IMHO that's not enough to make a difference in viewing modes.

One could come out with a program that eliminates the on screen video controls that are now on the Pearl, but while that would make a bigger picture, the aspect ratio would be out of whack.

The videos would have to be cropped on the sides so to have the picture look right [aspect ratio], so seems the reason for removing the on screen video control interface [bigger picture] would come at a price [cropped movie] and/or would be defeated.
