Default Newb here: getting Yahoo! Messenger to work on my Pearl

I have switched over from the Cingular 8125 and the BB is new to me, so I apologize in advance for dumb questions.

I had AOL IM on my old phone and I downloaded Yahoo on my Pearl. When I log in it tells me "Please visit blackberry.com/go/yahoo to activate your handheld for Yahoo! Messenger"

Well, I reinstalled it via the computer as I did it via the phone the first time. So, what am I doing wrong and why won't it boot up?

Thank you for any help! I love these forums and have learned a great deal in the past week.

Did you go to the website to activate it? If so what kind of message did you get?

there are a few links to yahoo messenger on a cingular BB in this forum. I belive the problem is cingular wouldnt send the proper service book to let it work I know there is a work around but never had to use it since i have Tmo

I did go the website but I am not sure about activating it since I already have a username and password. I figured I could just put that in, but it wont let me and gives me the error about going to the Blackberry site to activate it. What does that mean? I guess I better fish around.

On the website it says :* Yahoo! Messenger, designed for BlackBerry devices, is currently not available for customers of Cingular Wireless.
