About a month or so this forums had about 30% actual useful information.
With the flurry of cingular 8100 users that percentage has gone down to 2%.
I don't mind new people and their questions but a search on this site will yield you your answer 95% of the time without making a new thread.
And then there are these threads, shouldn't this be in the rant section? reading about your experience and your choice to go back to another blackberry really has no affect on others unless they are doing market research.

| Trust me, that number was at about 95% before the Pearl was released at all.

Making a section on this forum for users who have over a certain amount of posts. Say 200+ . In this section should be where the meat and potatos are... people should graduate to that section where these is more knowledgeable people and more helpful information...
People with below 200 posts should be allowed to enter... post... but must get approval before the post is allowed in the thread.
I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it could really concentrate all useful knowledge into one section of this forum and people like me don't have to waste 10-20 minutes looking for useful information or updated news.
Or...
if you don't have 200+ posts.. you can't make a new thread. this will force all noobs to search and search till the find the answer. | | Offline

| I purchased a pearl outright yesterday and have been an 8700 user since the day it came out. I'll admit....this is going to take some getting used to. I'm not so sure I'm in love with the phone as much as I am the media capabilities. SureType is going to be tough...but I'm adaptable.
I'm going to give it a whirl for awhile and when the 8800 comes out....I'm all over it. | | Offline

I may not have all the answers about my BB but to even suggest that we censure post from new people is absurd. Instead of 200 post why not make it 500 and you couldnt post either. Where is the line and WHO gets to pick it. If it EVER goes that way I'm done. This site needs to be about attraction NOT promotion. I like the personalities of a lot of people who post here, NOT because they know something about a phqueing Blackberry. Having hands down knowledge or experience on a PHONE does not warrant keeping you from having to suffer through some post you dont feel should be on this forum until it meets someone else's criteria.
Very dissappointed.

Blast | Don't worry, I don't forsee that happening at all. I think the user that suggested that is a bit bitter and I can understand why, but by no means will we prevent someone without X amount of posts to start a thread or something along those lines.

Blast | You have to ignore the fools who post rude or condescending comments. And above all else remain disciplined enough to not post retorts to where threads turn into public alley fights.
Eventually you can ID who the idiots are, those who like to post personal attacks, negative comments, or post misspelled, poorly written, moronic statements, sometimes disguised as half-baked ideas/suggestions. I just ignore them and/or PM them a nasty retort.

| I for one thought SureType was going to result in my test driving the 8100 and returning it... however, I actually like SureType.. it is very good at guessing what I am about to type. I do not make any more errors on that than I did on the 8700's full QWERT. Plus the size, look and other features (media) on the 8100 rock. I am definitely not going back... but will look at the 8800 when it comes out (unless it is too big). | | Offline

I like the Pearl's small form factor.
But I can see where guys with BIG hands would have problems with it and want a larger device. And some people can never get used to SureType. Me, I love it because I don't send that many e-mail messages from the Pearl, I mostly use it to receive messages.

| I did like the smaller form factor but depend on my Blackberry for communication with my customers while in the filed. This requires me receive and answer as many as 80 emails a day. For me the smaller keyboard was becomming an issue. I know many of you prefer Suretype. We are all so lucky that Blackberry provide a device for everyone!
I can not tell you how nice it was to be using the 8700c again. | | Offline
