My previous high score was 67160. THen check this out, i now have 80,610 with *TWENTY* lives left... then bam, ball disappeared... @%)(#@(%*@#$@#$@#*&%#$ I can take a picture and post if if y'all don't believe me!

Geesh... 20 lives left! all through the game i'm going "i hope the ball doesn't disappear this time, i'm doing so well" and yep, there it goes. Freakin' bugs!

i noticed that the ball disappears if the ball goes to the top above the highest bricks after they have fallen once. the space in between those bricks and the top of the screen is so small and the ball just gets lost in it and disappears!! i now know to try to avoid aiming my ball for the top when the bricks are about to drop. it's so frustrating.

i'm at level 29, 17000. it's a big competition between all of my friends.

and also, since this forum is about cheats, we haven't figured out any for the pearl, but on at&t's 8800, if you press the menu button immediately before you hit the last brick, it skips to the level after the next. pretty cool if you want to avoid a level you really hate. it only works on at&t's 8800, though. we've tried it on the t-mobile pearl, at&t curve and verizon 8830 as well, but the 8800 is the only one =(

Like you guys, I'm totally fed up with the disappearing ball problem. I was searching other posts/forums and discovered that if you leave the game running, the ball will eventually come back. There doesn't seem to be a concensus on how long it takes, but it happened to me twice tonight and took about 15 minutes for the ball to bounce back in.

I'm on a Pearl with a score of 49,430 on level 29.
I was previously on at 7100t with a score in the 400k range.
I understand you can get totally hosed after you hit a million with weird kinks in the game. I can't seem to get anywhere near that far on the Pearl.

i've noticed a bunch of you have discovered that the ball will disappear if it goes between a brick and ceiling after they've dropped one row (actually they drop half a row at first). i lost a 200K point game and a 300K point game from that and almost threw my phone against the wall.

this is low tech, but a guaranteed way to avoid the problem... starting on the secound round (after you've beaten all 34 levels the first time), the screen drops by one row every time the ball hits your paddle. so, on any level with bricks at the very top, bounce the ball off your paddle at least twice before you send up towards the top. this will drop everything down enough that the ball can't disappear out the top.

the trick is remembering to do it every time you start a level. after a while it becomes habit.

I can't get past level 12... grrr.. so mad... well its just a game.. i was checking the high scores... unbelievable.... oooo

I'm stuck on level 16. My problem seems to be that I try to do too much at once (hit the ball and get a power-up.) I always get burned because the power-up will "float" through my paddle if I don't get there quick enough. Sometimes, I think the ball goes "through" my paddle too if the entire paddle isn't under the ball.

I can't wait until the day I can check out the next levels!!!

Former 8800 user just switched to Pearl...

Just found this thread this morning, so I am new here but I have a little info on the "ball issue".

It is definitely Firmware/OS related. I had my old 8800 for a little over 2 years, and the ball disappearing did not start till after I got into 4.X...

Anyway, I have been through all levels many times and I can tell you that Brickbreaker gets a little more "glitchy" with each new OS or Firmware Rev.

I cant get past 12..

My current high score is 9995. I am stuck at level 16! I've made it only to level 17 once. The silver bricks just keep lowering and lowering until it seems almost impossible to hit the shot into that opening at the top. Any pointers?

I finally got past the difficult section (round two of the levels) and everything got almost boringly easy.

Right now I had 105,900 and 40 lives left but I got sloppy on level 34 (6th time through I think, maybe 7th) and the ball got stuck at the top. I say "got sloppy" because I knew already that once the bricks drop one step, the ball can get stuck or lost between the top brick and the top of the playing field.

Now I guess I just have to wait a couple of weeks to see if the ball pops back into existence. I've seen it reappear before, but I don't know why.

ok bragging about BrikBreaker WHEN YOU ARE SKILLFULL IS ONE THING! but then CHEATING wHY? so you can show who? your sister or your mommy that you did well.. Get the real skills.. and get a score games are no fun if you cheat.. its not exiting to win... like when you clear a level should be REALLY exiting.. not stupidly cheating through it...

it just doesnt make sense... anyways.. what you do is.. DELETE brickbeaker and you win..

HAHA UR killin' me! I'm hopelessly addicted to this game.. lol

On the first level, at the exact instant your ball (or laser or gun) comes into contact with the last brick, press in the jog dial. The box will pop up with "Level 2/34" and also the menu will pop up. Hit "Ok" on the level dialog, then hit "New Game" on the menu.

It will then start a new game on level two. When you finish level two it will jump ahead to level 4, and then to level 6, etc. Your score won't be very high, but you'll get furthur along in the game quicker. It takes a little practice, but you'll get it.

pausing the game or dying neutralizing the 'skip' effect. if you need to pause, wait until the last brick is destroyed on whatever level you're on and don't touch anything - the game will remain on hold.

cheats are for newbs.

Pretty sure its up down up down left right left right b a SELECT start for 2 players cause playin with yourselfs no fun Ya need a partner lmao then you get to fight over power ups n stuff. Good times lotta brain cells fried on that game.
And for the haters of cheatin ifn Ya don't like cheatin that's fine but tellin someone else not to ? Um what does it matter you play the game your way n well play it ours , no prob right ?
On that same note here's a little trick thatll only work on your pearl ifn Ya gots the 4.2 OS pretty sure its gotta be an earlier version. But you can make the paddle move at lightning speed along with already turning the sensitivity up. There's a glitch while surfing the web with the bb browser ifn you highlight a picture and hit load full image er whatever it is and then zoom in on the pic when you go back out of the pic you just veiwed it'll be all kind of fast scrolling and the only way to fix it is a reset. But now this is a good thing cause that darn paddle will be so fast your gonna have to get used to it all over again but when you do you'll be unstoppable.
And remember ifn Ya don't like cheating please hit the back button located at the top left of your explorer and disregaurd this message you have the power to not read it ifn Ya don't wanna. CHEERS
