Hi everyone. I hope someone can help with this problem.

I have a blackberry 8100. I have my LED coverage indicator set at on. It seems to work properly such as blinking green when its stationary, when i receive messages it blinks red, blinks red during the duration of ringing with incoming calls but with only incoming phone calls, my LED stays lit at green when i answer and even after i finished or hanged up the call. Im not sure if it is normal to stay lit during the incoming call but im sure its not normal to have it stay lit even after the call. It is very annoying because to have it blink again i have set the LED from on to off then off to on.

Any suggestions or help are much appreciated.

what Os version are you running? If its the original one that comes with the BB that is the problem. You will have to upgrade the OS.

i think im running on version 4.2. what is the latest OS version? and how do i go about upgrading to the latest.

There are several versions of 4.2...they are 4.2.0.42 all the way up to the most current of 4.2.0.69. There are many threads about upgrading OS's.

i have tried the 4.2.0.69 version......still no progress.

are you sure? Did you follow the post about upgrading the OS? I havent had that problem for a few months now. I have upgraded like 3 times. Check the version on your phone and make sure it upgraded.

im running on rogers wireless network (canada). i have upgraded my OS to
V4.2.0.51 from the BlackBerry.com-rogers link upgrade site. i cant seem to get my OS to anything later than V4.2.0.51. im guessing because of my network may not be compatible with other upgrades.

am i wrong?....i have upgraded my OS though from the OS it has came with but at the end of the day, my light problem is still not fixed.

is my problem still my OS or my actual BB?
is there another way i can approach this problem?

In order to run .69 (or any other OS version that is not a version released by your carrier) you need to delete the vendor.xml file in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader after installing the OS package to the PC. Then run Desktop Manager and it will prompt for the upgrade.
