Default Software that lets me SMS over computer?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any kind of program that will let me send text messages over my computer while my blackberry is hooked to it? I had a program like that for my SDA and wanted to know if they had it for the Pearl...I hate writing out messages on my phone when i am sitting right next to the comp so it would be really handy...any ideas?

There are lots of ways to send SMS text from your computer and you don't need to connect your phone to your computer.

You can use T-Mobile's web site but I prefer Yahoo. It keeps a running stream of your messages sort of like an IM conversation.

Yahoo's is located at:
Yahoo! Mobile - SMS and Text Message Your Friends

Try textmessage.cc

It's free, fast and works great!

Default SMS via iChat

I use (iChat) AOL messenger.through Adium (i'm on Mac OS X).

All you do is type the message you want to send as an SMS into a new IM window and change the screenname field to +16175551212. Replace 6175551212 with the phone number of the SMS-capable mobile phone. The "+1" is the country code, which is required; however, I don't think AOL supports non-US numbers yet, but they do plan to.

Wink

You could use your existing email application and send emails to [email address] or some other Email-to-SMS gateway address.

There are a number of Widgets for Mac OSX that let you send SMS messages to cell phones and BBs.
