Lightbulb T-mobile BlackBerry Pearl Modem Manual***

Please Login to Remove!

#1 - Latest firmware version.

To make sure you have the latest go here www DOT t-mobile DOT com / bbupgrade
(sorry but this tutorial is only for t-mobile users for now)
Click on the blackberry picture, type in your number, and download the latest handheld

version.(do not have Desktop Manager running at this time)Back up your phone before you go

any further.
Install the upgrade then open Desktop Manager.A wizard should pop up to help you install the

latest version.

#2 - Create modem.

Go to CONTROL PANEL > Network and Internet Connections
then click on the tab phone and modem options on the left side.
click on the MODEMS tab then ADD.
click NEXT then NEXT again. Select (Standard Mode Types) and select Standard 33600 bps modem

on the right. Then click next.Depending on where your phone is located choose what com port

your phone is on, mostlikely the first one on the list then click NEXT.Then you will want to

select your modem in the modems tab list and click properties.Next go to the ADVANCED Tab

and type this in the Extra initialization commands box : at+cgdcont=1,,""

then once you do that click ok at every ok box and that should cover creating your modem.

#3 - Create Internet COnnection.

CONTROL PANEL > Network and internet connection > Network COnnections.
then click on the tab Create new internet connection on the left box.
click NEXT,select the tab Connect to the Internet, then click NEXT.
then select the tab Set up my connection manually, then click NEXt,then select tab Connect

using and dial-up modem,then click NEXT .
then check the box of the new modem you just made, then click NEXT and type in T-Mobile for

you ISP then NEXT and the phone number will be *99# then click NEXT.
leave the user name and password feilds blank and uncheck both the boxes under confirm

password then click NEXT and then finish.

#4 - Connecting.

Conecting is easy, just double click the new conection you made and hit connect, and that

should be it,oh and make sure you have desktop manager while trying to connect,it has to be

on in order for it to work.

Thats pertty much a quick installation of a modem to get you using your laptop wirelessly

from your phone.I dont think you have to upgrade your firware if you dont want to,but i did

just to have the latest on my phone.I know the other user guides ive tried it was kinda hard

for me to get it to work,i just called tmobile and they hooked me up,and this is pretty much

exactly how we did it so if anything doesnt work, post it and we will try to help, thanx
