not sure about the sync problem....but as far as as setting up notification for email coming in.....are you on a corporate enterprise server or is it for personal email (yahoo, hotmail, etc.)?

Lightbulb if you have personal email setup

here's what ya do....its usually defaulted to vibrate in and out of holster.....check under settings>options>advanced options>service book to see what you have there. if you have any on the main list that have your email address on them then you can go under profiles>advanced>then highlight the profile you want to use most of the time>press the menu key and select edit. You will see a listing of things you can tweek and any of the ones that start w/ messages you can select and choose what notification it does in holster, out of holster and what tone it plays if you want noise instead of vibrate.

The same steps apply if you see service books w/ Desktop on them instead of your email address you can make the changes on the one in the profile listing that says Messages [Desktop].

You can do this one all the Pearls phone profiles, so that when you switch profiles (quiet to normal and back again, etc.) your settings will go with you for email notification.
