Default Keyboard shortcuts from the home screen?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I just received an 8100 and although I've read the manual and looked through a couple of FAQs, I can't find an answer to my question.

On the 8700, it's possible to change the preferences so that typing a letter from the home screen doesn't dial a number but instead, goes to an application. I don't make many calls, so I'd rather have the letter "M" open the Messages application than choose the first phone number with the letter "M" in the contact name.

Is there a way to make this change?

No, the Pearl does not support these shortcuts, and it's something I wish they'd change.
