after I use the pearl with my Lexus RX 350, the volume setting while making calls in the earpiece drops to half volume and the volume button does nothing to change it. It sticks at the half way mark and can not be changed unless I remove battery!

Anyone else getting this issue?

Have you checked at the lexus forums, Lexusownersclub and ClubLexus?
There are several threads with RX and A/V that you can post your question.
Have you asked your dealer about the bluetooth settings from factory, RX software updated and compatible to see what it controls on your bb.
Are you using the latest bb software?
Maybe its the RX that reduces the bb phone volume to RX speakerphone for less feedback?

I used to own a RX300,
and maybe those forum guys can give a more specific answer.
