Welcome to the forums!

Yes. Install the Desktop Manager. Then install the OS package to your PC. Then delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader. Plug in the BB and run Desktop manager. It will prompt you to update.

Coming from a Cingular data support rep: you should be able to put cingular firmware on it....but if anything looks screwy w/ icons (especially the browser one) put the tmobile firmware back on it . the data plan i would pick for ya (as long as you aren't on a corporate server at work) is the 29.99 BB plan which is unlimited data for the user, but no corporate server access if your company runs a Blackberry Enterprise Server.

You can install any 8100 OS on to any 8100. It's all made by RIM and all works flawlessly. I've been running 4.2.0.69 (Cingular) on my TMobile Pearl since it's been out. There are no problems using other Carrier's software.

That's the best plan. cingular version 4.2.0.69 is the latest/best version out there right now.

Lightbulb idea

the price online under blackberry personal is the price before voice discount....like if the BB was set as data only w/ no voice plan.....5 dollar discount w/ a voice plan on same BB...making it 29.99
